Following are answers to a few questions that you probably want answered BEFORE joining:

• Why should I join BBSNZ?
• Why does BBSNZ have to be affiliated with Surfing New Zealand?

Why should I join BBSNZ?   

We want to create the opportunity for the elite riders to compete overseas as recognized athletes competing for their country and we want to support them financially. We want to create opportunities for coaching, judging and developing our sport in New Zealand and we want to provide support for people who want to promote bodyboarding through competitions, media,events, promotions etc.

We also have a HUGE range of membership benefits listed on the other side of this flyer that include discounts to clothing, boards, equipment, sanctioned events etc. You’ll also have the opportunity to apply for funding through pub charities for events and initiatives that support and/or promote Bodyboarding in New Zealand.

IF YOU’RE INTERESTED IN ONE OF THE ABOVE ASPECTS OF BODYBOARDING THEN WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT BY JOINING THE CLUB.

 

Why does BBSNZ have to be affiliated with Surfing New Zealand?

The structure of sport in New Zealand dictates that in order to be recognized as New Zealand representatives in a specific sport you must be under the umbrella of the governing body funded by SPARC (the main government sporting organization in New Zealand). Surfing New Zealand is the recognized national body for our sport in New Zealand and in order to progress our sport further and have the ability to apply for funding, recognition and support we need to be affiliated with them. Also, with their support we’ll be able to utilize their resources for some of our competitions.
